Pumpkin Bash: Woodland Park Zoo

What an amazing time our family had at the Woodland Park Zoo!

This was our first time going to Woodland's Zoo Pumpkin Bash.  Hands down, it was a really fun experience for the whole family.  My daughter loved seeing other kids dressed up in their Halloween costumes!  It added to the magic of being at the zoo.

We saw squirrels up and close as they got into our carts when we parked to go visit the bird exhibit!  Luckily everything was packed away.  So for those with strollers--pack those goodies away before you park or you might have a cunning squirrel pay your stroller a visit!

I absolutely love this part of the zoo.  Seeing these little otters dart and swim with such ease....
This was probably the kids' favourite!  One will hear all sorts of giggles and squeals of laughter as these swim by.

There was so much to do!  There were games to play as well as educational and interactive "See and Touch" places.

Pumpkin Bash is definitely one for the books.  We loved being able to play the games and win more than just candy.  They offered prizes such as bananas and clementines!  My little one loved winning a banana to munch on as we visited the animals.  The different tents were a bit spread out as you enter the gates which made it feel less overwhelming with kids.  I advise going early in the day so as to have enough time to play the games once or twice through as well as visit the animals.  We enjoyed spotting the Halloween decoration elements in the animal exhibits.

My conclusion:  My oldest was super excited at the chance to do some trick or treating for candy before Halloween night.  Children in costumes get a great discount.  Stopping points to offer me a few treats for parents is a win!  Fresh fruit as prizes--such a great idea!  Our family had a blast and will plan to go again next year.
