Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme Cereal Review and Giveaway

My Review:
This cereal tasted great.  We received one box, and it was gone within two to three days.  I had packed 2 ziplock baggies for snacks as we were on the road traveling.  We as a family loved it for breakfast.  It was not only my toddler who wanted a bowl full of Cookies 'n' Creme....it was me too!

The texture of them is not as hard on the mouth as I had thought it would be.  In the past I have had circular kids' cereal and hated that it rubbed the roof of  my mouth rough and raw for some reason.  This one has a nice softer texture to it.  It was small enough for little toddler mouths as well.

The Taste and flavor was addicting.  I could not get over the delicious taste of Cookies 'n' Creme!  I kept eating them as a snack and my  husband who is a bit hard to please when it comes to cereal joined in on munching them down as well.  Quite an enjoyable cereal that pleased the tastebuds of all in our family.

Life is Easier:
Below is what we received in our package.  I have to say that I really am enjoying the cereal dispenser as it beats having to reach into the cupboards with a step stool for our cereal every morning.  And the bowls, spoons fit together as "to go" cereal bowls.  There is a place to put the cereal and have milk stored safely in a separate compartment.  In thinking about up coming camping trips, this will come handy when we want at least one bowl of cereal or need some snack containers.

Giveaway:
Want to win the same cereal package as I have received?  Picture is above of what the prize package is!  It is a really nice prize pack and do not think  you want to miss out on winning this General Mills Cereal Prize Package! Enter using the Rafflecopter Below and Winner will be drawn on July 23, 2013.  Entrants is limited to US only.  Thank you!

Fibond Review and Giveaway

Fibond Review:

We were granted an opportunity to try Fibond which is geared towards helping hide the balding.  With Fibond the little plant fibers “bond” to the existing hair making it appear thicker and fuller.  It is a quick way to fix those balding spots.  In essence it took my husband less than a minute to apply the product, and I felt it was somewhat successful in hiding his balding areas.

Great Color Fit:
I was impressed that the color we chose fit his  hair quite well.  I was worried because he has such a variety of hair colors that comes through.  He has reddish, blonde, and brown hair.  According to instructions on picking out a color, we went with his root color—light brown.

Application of the Product:
It is relatively easy to use the product.  But I do believe that it does take practice in knowing how to apply Fibond without the product having a fuzzy appearance.  We had to brush it out and start over at times to get the desired look.  Overall my husband seems to be okay with the product, but not satisfied with it.  He felt that it was due to his hair being long and the fibers seemed to give his head a fuzzy look.  From far away no one could notice it, but for us we could notice the fibers right away.  He commented that he would have had a far better experience with the product if his hair were short instead of long.

As far as combing to fix the Fibond to conform to the hair, it seems to collect on the brush or comb we use.  It tends to collect in the comb and we end up having to start again.  Instead we have found to fix the fibers one has to pat it down.

Conclusion:
We have been using the product for about two weeks, and do get Fibond to look nice and normal with a slight fuzziness, but overall, my husband says it comes off too easily for his liking and still looks kind of funny to him.

My husband in the past has been in the market for hair loss products, but as of the last few years he has simply stopped shopping.  We have considered using some very pricey hair loss products, but the commitment for using the product every day for months and years seemed quite a task for him.  Needless to say the words “results may vary” has deterred him from spending money.   We feel like for someone wanting something that can help cover those areas of baldness, this would be a great find for them.  And in my husband opinion he recommends this product for someone with shorter hair.  But for my husband he does not care to use this product on a daily basis at work.  He wears a safety hat at work, and sees that the product will come off in the hat.

Giveaway:
Fibond offers a giveaway to one of you readers!
Winner will receive a 25g, 50-75 day supply of Fibond.
The value after shipping is $33

Soft Scrub 4-in-1 Toilet Care Giveaway List

I recently bought this from my friendly grocery store before family members came over.  I kind of like how it is keeping my toilet bowl clean and smelling fresh.  Not to mention it fits perfectly inside the toilet without being a bother.  I have a toddler and she has seen the little plastic latch once, and has moved it only that one time.  In my eyes it has given me a hand when it comes to keeping tidy our little bathroom.

Here is a list of Blogs who are hosting a Review and a Giveaway of Soft Scrub 4-in-1 Toilet Care!

Kellogg's Golden Honey Nut Crunch Nut Cereal Review

Deliciousness is right!  I absolutely enjoyed this cereal.  It has the crunch I so desire and the sweetness of honey that my taste buds go wild over.  Normally I do not like eating cereals for breakfast just because I cannot find the right cereal that satisfies my daughter, husband, and me.  But this is perfect!  It is not too sweet, yet kid friendly enough for my two year old daughter.

Texture:  The texture of this cereal is not too hard or too big for a bite.  I hate getting a cereal where the crunch actually hurts my mouth (like certain types of granola cereal) or is too big for my daughter to bite into.  This however was not too big or too hard.  It was crunchy enough and did not hurt to take a bite into it.   The flakes were easily eaten up by my daughter with not much ado.  I kind of like the flakes.  Usually I get some granola type cereal, but I think the flakes are much gentler on teeth.

I also like the little nutty-ess that sticks onto every flake!   From the ingredients listed,  it was a mixture of crushed up peanuts, almonds, pecans, and walnuts---yummy.  To be clear there weren't big hunks of the nuts, they were just kind of small. Tiny enough to stick onto the flakes if that makes sense!

Flavor:  The flavor is light honey.  Sweet but now overpowering sweet.  The flavor reminds me right away of Kellogg's Frosted Flakes--but not as sweet.  Great flavor that is grown up enough for my husband and I, yet perfect for my daughter's tastebuds to pick up on the hint of sweetness.

Verdict:  The two components of this cereal flavor and texture make it sort of irresistible in our family.   It was opened last week, and today my daughter happily finished it off!  I did spoil her with snack bags of it on the go.  Normally flakes are not a good idea for a snack, but these were tasty enough that she did not make a big mess at all.  Most flakes made it into her mouth.

Hard Rock Cafe "Night out in Seattle" {$50 GC Giveaway}

I cannot but really be stoked to tell you guys about our experience in the Hard Rock Cafe!

I have never been to a Hard Rock Cafe in my life!  I did not know if they even allowed us to take kids!   Haha silly me.  So I was thrilled that there was not a long wait to sit down to a table.  They showed us to a table, and the music was not too overwhelming.  After ordering one of the guys walking around who called himself the "music director" walked up to our table and asked us our favorite rock songs and artists!  My husband picked out a couple of songs.  I really drew a blank!  All that came to my mind were Disney's Lilo and Stitch and Muppets' song "Nomena".

I felt like we were truly apart of the whole Hard Rock Cafe Experience.  And yes, my husband's music choices were played during our dining experience!  He was loving every second of it!  Be prepared.  If you eat at the Hard Rock Cafe have some favorite rock songs in mind!

Great food at family- friendly prices.
I expected that Hard Rock Cafe would be steep in prices, but surprisingly they were decently priced that I was shocked!  I will be back with our family even without a gift card in our pocket.   I felt that we could order whatever we wanted with room in our budget for dessert.  I ordered this tasty Smokehouse Sandwich below for 12.95.  I could hardly finish it!  The Texan fits true to its "Everything is bigger in Texas" idea.  And simply was amazing.  The crispy jalapenos were something new to me, and I loved it!

I did end up getting a dessert.  I ordered a Mojito Yogurt with Seasonal Fresh Fruit.

Picture Creamy, thick Greek yogurt with fresh lime and mint served over fresh seasonal fruit served Island style in a margarita glass.  Delicious!  It was sooo good and FRESH TASTING.  I did not expect to love it the way I do!  Hands down, I would order this again.  If I could I wish I could take all Fruit this way!  Fresh pineapple slices, sliced strawberries, and grapes with chopped mint in the creamy thick Greek yogurt--Perfect for a nice light dessert.

Hard Rock Cafe's New Menu are based on these three concepts:

1. Fresh is First!
Everything you order is fresh above all!  High quality ingredients, produce are of the freshest possible, salads incorporate handmade sauces, steaks that are nothing less than center-cut, corn-fed and aged for 21 days, and salmon from the immaculate fjords of Norway.

2.  Legendary is King!
This is what describes the burgers at Hard Rock Cafe--Legendary!  Just like the rockers!

3.  "Smoking" is back!
Reminiscent of good old-fashioned Southern barbeque, new smokin’ menu items offer unique flavors from a variety of regional Bar-B-Que styles, from the classic pulled pork to the exotic Asian-style “Shang Hi” sandwich.

The Texan Smokehouse Sandwich
Talk about – Chipotle and Hickory Bar-B-Que sauce, cheddar cheese, crispy jalapenos and crunchy onions married together in one delicious bite!  This by far is one of my splurges.  Don't it look good?  The smokey flavor was really good and not dry at all.

Shang Hi Smokehouse Sandwich

– Award-winning Asian 5-spice Bar-B-Que sauce with homemade Asian style pickled cucumbers and sriracha mayonnaise drizzle.

South Carolina Smokehouse Sandwich
– Award-winning Asian 5-spice Bar-B-Que sauce with homemade Asian style pickled cucumbers and sriracha mayonnaise drizzle.

Smokehouse Chop Salad
Freshly chopped mixed field greens with diced smoked chicken, spicy bacon, pecans, cheddar cheese and pico de gallo. Topped with a smoky citrus vinaigrette and fresh sliced avocado.

Shock Top Battered Fish & Chips
–Fish battered with a Belgian-style wheat beer with citrus and coriander flavors then served with fries, a citrus spiked tartar sauce and homemade coleslaw.

Farm Rich Mozzarella Sticks {Review and Giveaway}

Fresh Mozzarella Sticks from Home!
Do not overspend at a restaurant by caving into something you can prepare right at home and for a decent price.  Every time we venture into a restaurant, I know that one of the things I desire so ardently is an appetizer of Mozzarella sticks.  Now thanks to Farm Rich, I can save money and enjoy more by picking up a bag of Farm Rich breaded Cheese Sticks!  We picked up a bag in our local Albertsons store, and it was quite easy to prepare in a short amount of time.

Farm Rich Breaded Cheese Sticks--100% Mozzarella
Thanks to Farm Rich, I was able to grab a Family Pack of these delectable cheese sticks!  This bag was more than enough to feed us about 3-4 times!  They made great snacks for us and were complimentary to our lunches and dinners.  They baked up quite easily and fast.  They also did not take long to be devoured!  I have to say that if I ever get a craving for Mozzarella Sticks...I will not hesitate to pick up a Pack of Farm Rich Breaded Cheese Sticks!

Great Tasting Snacks:
My daughter loves eating these!  They made a quick snack to make.  All I did was heat up the oven popped a couple of cheese sticks in there, and got ready for our little trip to the play ground.  I have to say I would recommend a little toaster oven if you got one.  After cooling off I simply bagged them, and we were on our way for a little play date!  I actually ate most of what we packed.  These were so scrumptious and tasted so much better than restaurant mozzarella sticks!  When family and friends come over to have a movie night or watch a game...these will be in our party mix of snacks!  These have definitely kept us happy.  For me...I love that it has 0grams tran-fat!

Farm Rich not only has these yummy breaded Cheese Sticks.  They also have other products that you want to sink your teeth in!  Check out what suits you!  I cannot wait to see when my grocery stores carry more of what Farm Rich has to offer.

New 2 Box Cheerios Packaging Review and Giveaway

In the past months I have always shied away from purchasing a box of Cheerios from Costco. They were always too big and tall to store in our cabinets, and too much for our little household to eat up in time!

Yet I remember caving in and purchasing Costco's Big Box of Cheerios.  My daughter recently grew an affinity to Cheerios as a simple easy snack.  I caved and bought ourselves a huge box at Costco.  It was at a decent price, and thought it was a bargain!  But because of the huge package, we could not eat down to the bottom.  The cereal became stale and just not breakfast or snack worthy.  I still have the remains of what's left in my cupboard!   I hate waste, and buying cereal in bulk was just not worth it to me.

BUT Today, I am excited to talk about Cheerios NEW Packaging!   Instead of one huge tall box, Cheerios are now packaged into two separate boxes.  They are shorter in length, and a tiny bit wider.  I am quite fond of the TWO BOX packaging as it really eliminates the waste in our household and reduces the possibility of our Cheerios getting stale. Watch the Video below to see the difference in the NEW packaging!

Here are some reasons as to why I think this is such a Brilliant Idea from General Mills and beneficial to our family!

  • The two box Packaging makes the cereal last longer and fresh.
  • The package is already divided into what we can use now, and what we can store up for later.  It makes it easier for me to put away groceries!
  • The box itself is shorter and can easily fit in our regular size cabinets.  Whereas before, I found it frustrating trying to figure out a way to store ONE tall big box in my cabinet.
  • Available at Costco, Sam's Club, and BJ's nationwide.
  • We can buy Cheerios in bulk without wasting or having the cereal become stale!
  • Overall, it makes sense and works for our family.

Here's a look at their efforts towards Sustainability--information taken from http://www.cheerios.com/club2boxes:

A Focus on Sustainability:

If a more convenient design isn't enough, the iconic yellow box has gone green, environmentally that is! The new 2 box Cheerios® 40.7oz package is better for the environment than the previous 37oz item as it uses:

  • Less air – the new 2 compact boxes combined fit more cereal than the previous package!
  • Less material – packaging material has been reduced by over 200,000 lbs of paperboard, and saves 1,000 trees per year!
  • Fewer trucks –more boxes fit on each truck, which takes 130 trucks off the road each year and reduces CO2 emissions!

Giveaway: One winner will be chosen to win the New 2 Box Packing of Cheerios!  Giveaway ends June 13, 2012, 12:01am EST.  Please enter by filling out the Rafflecopter form below.  Giveaway open to US and CAN. Winner must respond to notification email to claim prize within 48 hours.

Review and Giveaway: Mother-Ease One Size Diaper {FItted Diaper Event}

Now I have found that this diaper gets nice and “thicker” it seems after a number of washes.  Our washing machine is shared between our upstairs neighbors so it took quite some time to get this diaper washed!  But after a good couple of washings and using it for about a month now, I have to say that it’s a nifty daytime diaper.  My toddler is about 23lbs now and it fits her nicely.  This Mother Ease One-Sized Fitted is designed to fit a child 8lbs-35lbs.

Absorbency: Now at first I snapped on this diaper without an insert.  She got away from me and managed to run and pee at the same time.  A toddler without an insert in this diaper or a diaper cover—not a good idea.  After washing and drying the diaper, I added a soaker inside this Mother-ease diaper, and gave it another try!  I managed to slip on a diaper cover on her wiggly body, and voila!  It made for a nice daytime diaper for the afternoon. I found that it was a good diaper for both night time and daytime use.  In our stash it is used mainly as a day time diaper because it is just so easy to use and quickly put on her.

Mother-Ease One Size Fitted Diapers have a place for an optional insert.  For a light weight wetter and younger babies, an insert might not be needed, as the cotton terry fabric seemed to absorb nicely.  I have only tried this diaper on my 18 month old, 23lb toddler.  For a toddler or heavy wetter Mother-ease recommend an optional snap-in insert as shown in their diagram on folding diapers for various sizes.  I highly recommend a thirsty insert.  She peed right through the diaper without the insert.  When I grab this diaper it is for the daytime uses.  I have used this diaper with a snap in insert and diaper cover for her 2 ½ hour.

Fabric:  I did like how the diaper had Cotton Terry touching my baby’s bottom.  If you are looking for a diaper that is soft and will not maintain its softness I highly would tell you that this one may be the diaper you are looking for!  The Cotton Terry has a nice feel to it—great for little bottoms.  I love that the cotton terry texture helps things fall off the diaper when plopping solids into the toilet.  It seems to absorb and then the terry texture keeps the solids at the top instead of getting smushed into the fiber.  Another fabric in this diaper, the polyester fabric is in the core to help “stabilize, prevent shrinkage, and add durability”.  I know that some may worry about polyester fabrics, but do not fear, the Cotton Terry is against the skin not the polyester.

It also has a nice stretch to it.  I like that I am not fighting a stiff fabric.

Newborn Fit:  I kind of like using my daughter’s baby doll for illustration on how fit is on a baby.  As you can see it will work for a tiny one.  It is loose on the bottom side due to the baby not having much of a bum.  It seems kind of bulky in my opinion even for an 8lb baby, but is doable.  I find that babies will rather grow into diapers sooner than one will know it though so do not despair if you purchase a diaper—your little one will grow into it for sure!

Though it will be somewhat bulky on a newborn, I feel that it could be a stay at home diaper till baby grows into it more.  The Cotton Terry cloth will be great for newborns’ skin I think, as it was super soft even after a month’s worth of washing.  The diaper itself is not stiff, but just supple and pliable to form and fit around umbilical areas.  I found it relatively easy to fold down the diaper to avoid umbilical cord as well.  Mind you, it was a baby doll I tried it on!

Final Thoughts:  I really liked the trimness of this diaper.  I liked that I could slip on a pair of her shorts or pants over top the diaper and diaper cover.  Another positive about this Mother-ease diaper is the fabric--The Cotton Terry's softness was a major plus in my book.  This is my first cotton terry type of diaper, and I have to say we LOVE it!

For approximately $11-$13 you can get a decent One-Sized Fitted Mother-ease diaper.  I think that the price for the cloth diaper is reasonable especially since it will accommodate your baby till potty training time!
Where to purchase: You can purchase this particular  Mother-Ease Diaper at Thanksmama.com

Enter to win: Thanksmama has offered to sponsor a giveaway on my blog!  One winner will receive a Mother-ease diaper, to enter please fill out the rafflecopter form below.  Winner will be drawn May 29th!  Winner will be drawn at random.  Thanks for Entering!

Cravings {The Devotional} Review and a Giveaway!

What is Cravings? Now in the world there are many cravings --such as something sweet and creamy, salty and crunchy, etc.  But what today I am excited to introduce to you Cravings {The Devotional} kind!  Carey Bailey was inspired by God one day to create something truly nifty for moms who are swept away by the swift tide of motherhood.  There are periods in my life that I neglect my time with God, and sitting down with God seem so hard to do!  I feel like a Martha so often but I desire and crave to be seated at the feet of Jesus like Mary.

About the Author: Carey Bailey is a recovering perfectionist, wife, proud mama and Family Life director for her church in Surprise, Ariz. On the side she loves party planning, crafting, and pursuing her dream of writing. She has a degree in religion from Westminster College and writes at her blog at www.carebaileyonline.com.

My Experience:  In my life, Cravings {The Devotional} gives me a helpful bite of Scripture throughout the day--a sweet and sour Word from God if you will! A little bit of the sweetness that comes from the Bible as well as the sour tartness of a challenge too!  Each of the 40 cards come with a Bible verse or two and a little devotional to go along with it!  Personally I have found it nice to have a devotional geared to a mom who is "on the go" a lot.  I also find it refreshing to look up from my dish pit to see this little cupcake cheering me on with the Word and a little encouragement.

Amidst all my husband's miscellaneous gadgets and gizmos and my daughter's toys and other odds and ends, stands this delectable Craving.  It is sort of my piece among everyone's clutter.  I find that it is really nice claiming my own spot on top the window sill.

The cards are easy to read while I wash dishes and cook meals.  I have my Cravings in my Kitchen. The cards have a nice glaze on them that keeps them relatively waterproof.   I found that when my obnoxious and quite active cat jumped on the window sill the heavy cupcake which is actually quite stable was knocked from its place and right into my sink.  Lucky for him I was right there to wipe the cards down.  The cards did not suffer too much damage.  A few cards soaked in some water, but after pressing them and wiping them--I could not tell which ones got soaked!  But apart from my kitty knocking it down, I find that the cupcake holder is stable and nice and heavy.  I think that it would be great if I could get these cards laminated to really make them waterproof.  I would compare the finishing on them more like to playing cards--durable, good thickness to it, nice and slick.

Will this make a great gift?  Absolutely.  I would recommend this as a gift to those women and moms who are believers.  I feel that they would greatly benefit from Cravings {The Devotional}.  But I do have to say, I will not underestimate the power of God's Word and wisdom towards any person--His Word will not come back empty and void it will accomplish what it was made to accomplish!  But yes, this devotional was specific for Moms!  I know I have personally loved this devotional.  Not only has it helped me most every day, but it is nice having something womanly (utterly pink and obviously girly amidst all the other miscellaneous items that might be on someone's window sill!) and designed for moms in specific.  You can purchase Cravings {The Devotional} at the Dicksons Gift Shop.

Gorton's Seafood: Review and Giveaway {3 Winners!}

This is my first time trying out Gorton’s Seafood—so what our family tried out were their Original Batter Tenders.  Great big fish sticks they are in my opinion! This served us well especially on a day after church. I was not too keen of what to cook quick and fast that day, but I remembered we had Gorton’s Seafood in our freezer picked up a couple of days before.

Some things that I first noticed while shopping was the
  • "Gorton's Goodness" 100% Real Fish, No Fillers
  • NO MSG
  • Natural Omega-3

Our Sunday Meal!

Quick as you can say “Fish and Chips! Fish and Chips! Fish and Chips!” I heated up the oven and within about 15-20 minutes later we were sitting down to some Fish and Chips! I absolutely loved it when my husband chipped in by making some “homemade” tartar sauce. This was a fun easy meal to make with the family, and the batter of the fish had a nice crunch to it.  I was surprised at the crunchiness and superb taste of the Fish because in the past other fish do not have that great crunch as Gorton's does. So our compliments and recommendation to Gorton’s Original Batter!

Good Meaty Texture:
The texture of Gorton’s Original Fish Batter was quite nice. One can easily tell that it was real fish!  What is also great is that there are no fillers.  When you pulled it apart, one can see the meat “flake” off just as a real fish would do if one pulled it apart. I absolutely love that after pulling and cooling our Gorton’s Fish out of the oven that there was a definite crunch that I go to a restaurant for. I get great results without the use of a deep fat fryer!

Recipes and Food ideas for everyone, Gluten Free too!
We have yet to try out their Grilled Salmon, just bought some at the store, and am quite excited to try it for dinner or lunch with my husband! I will update without experience of Grilled Salmon. The cost to serve two people is not bad either it is under $6 for Gorton’s Gilled Salmon in our grocery store!  I appreciate the decent reasonable pricing as well as that they provide a great plethora of recipes and ideas for using their products.  Not to mention for anyone who has to worry about Gluten--Gorton's Seafood offers a selection of Gluten Free products.

I will come back shopping for their other products such as Popcorn Shrimp, Grilled Tilapia, and Beer Battered Fish!  Not to mention browsing their Recipe Collection gave me some easy meal ideas for the future.  Check out their website for a full list of Gorton's products!
